    Mountain Hardwear

Has anyone worn one of the El Kommando hiking kilts by Mountain Hardwear? I have been seeing them available a few places and have been considering buying one for outdoor wear this summer. I know everything I've owned before from this company has had rock solid construction, but figured I'd see if anyone here had actual experience with this item. I am guessing that it is designed to be worn at trouser waist level versus traditional kilt height, but I haven't seen anything listing the length. This is somewhat of a concern since I am 6-4 and like the idea of wearing a kilt while camping, but I'm not wanting it to be so short that I look like I'm wearing a mini-skirt.

I have one and it is solid. And the length works out real well for me, at 5'7".

I have one too and it's been great; it's real comfotable for hiking. I'm 5'9" medium build and the size medium is just perfect in waist and length (about 22"). I suspect you may have to get the large?

Thanks for the responses, sadly it looks like it isn't to be. Medium would be the correct waste size, but sounds like it would leave me showing a bit too much leg for my comfort.

Anyone know what's up the El Kommando kilt by Mountain Hardware, appears to be out of stock everywhere, wondering if it's been discontinued!

Moosejaw lists some sizes, and with a discount.
Otherwise I think it's just between seasons (stock for seasons) for Mountain Hardwear, and they think of it as a summer item.
    Maybe after Easter?
Or email Mountain Hardwear customer service and ask. Last fall I requested additional color choices (at least a lighter color like khaki) and they responded that they would forward my message to their development staff.

I've talked with the fellows who own the outdoor store next to the STM about the El Kommando. They've talked to MH and been told that it is not now in production.

Perhaps we will be seeing an improved version in the near future, but who knows?
