As many of you know, I revel in having all sorts of unique kilt hose to match my kilts (diced, triced, argyll, etc.). These hose are made of 100% wool, and as the tempature here in California creeps up, it gets harder and harder to wear them. I should clarify that I'm a daily kilt wearer, so as the temps go up, I tend to switch to PV kilts and flip flops....Thats how we roll in Cali!
So anyway, as I've posted in another thread, I've gained enoughh weight in 8 months that none of my fleet of kilts fit anymore. I took some time to make some kilts to my new measurements and have been posting along the way. I finished a 6 yard knife pleated Caledonia Ancient and wanted to wear ir out today. I put on a pair of diced hose that matched my now too small MacD of Glenadale since the scheme matched the orange and blue on my new kilt and headed out. After doing about an hours worth of running around town, I realized that it was now just too hot to wear the woolies...:-(. Since I had to meet a client, I wanted some hose to wear and dug around my "Hose-that-are-given-to-me-that-I'll-never-wear" box and found a pair my mother had got me about 6 months ago. They are arcylic popcorn top with a double fold over cuff in a lovat blue color. I threw them on and headed out, and I have to say that they were extremely comfortable....Not to mention cool!
I wish I knew who to praise, but I'm not sure where they hail from. I looked on the web and saw that JHiggins has identicle ones they call "Acrylic Pipers Hose". Comfort level is equal to Lewis or Ranoch hose, and a step cooler to boot. I think I may have to get a couple more. Pic in a moment......
