a modern twist on buckle brogues...

I usually wear a square-toed black leather dress shoe as these are most comfortable for my broad feet and "natural" toebox (I've spent most of my life barefoot). I'm of the belief that they look absolutely great with my current kit. I was looking for a new semi-dress shoe that I could wear for work as well as with my kilt, and I think I've found it. The shoe is made by Clarks (a handful of friends strongly recommended them) and the shoe is called the "Un.Morris"

Attractive shoe. I also tend to wear square-toe shoes for comfort and my first reaction to that picture is: the toe looks a little narrow. More investigation may be required. But it does look nice.

I wouldn't exactly call it a buckle brogue, but it is a nice-looking shoe. I wouldn't mind having a pair of them.

They are referred to as a 'monk strap' shoe. I am partial to them with a kilt. As far as the square toe, I can't say.

I tried on the laced version today at the Clarks shop in the mall. They fit like a dream, so I went ahead and ordered online for the buckle ones. They are buckle without looking "pilgrim" and I think they'll work great.
