While I certainly wish our Queen a very happy anniversary of her actual birth date. Here in Canada we have always celebrated the 24th of May as Victoria Day which was Queen Victoria's birthday. As she was Queen for so long (65 years?) and the date so nicely matches with our spring and when you can count on frost free nights to plant gardens. We have celebrated the spring and all the Monarch's birthday since (whenever they were actually born) on May 24th ever since with fireworks, a long weekend, and too much beer.
I am looking forward to it!
God Save Our Queen.

As has already been said, gentlemen, The Queen! int: int:
Long may she reign!
Incidentally, Brooke, Her Majesty is the Head of State of Canada (Queen of Canada). She is represented by the Governor-General.
The Prime Minister in Ottawa is head of government.

Her Majesty, in a fond photo with Canadian PM Jean Chretien.
and Brooke I did not intend that there be any religious or political tone or overtone to this thread despite your reading, my friend. My intent was limited to recognising Her Majesty's 85th birthday on April 21 and her long years as head of state for one-third of the world's population. I used the numerous American Presidents as an example of the time-line because I thought that you who are Americans might best understand this in terms of world history; Sandy in fine fashion added Canadian governmental leaders for those members who are Canadians (and I add the above to his) and Ern added a few pics of her Majesty's visits to the US of A on dates significant to Americans.
Again my wishes are for a happy 85th birthday for Queen Elizabeth. Long may she reign over us.

I shall raise a glass of Scotland's finest today to a remarkable lady.
The Queen.

I have wondered if the crown might skip a generation, if our Queen continues to reign during her lifetime she might simply outlive Charles.
Many Happy Returns of the Day, Lilybet.
