    Looking good Matty Ross!

I have a Sportkilt Works and I love it for what it is. It doesn't get worn for dressy occasions or even down to the pub. For clambering up the side of mountain or lounging around the house, however, it is God's gift to kilt wearing: light weight, washable, and has an elastic waistband.

Very snappy! Looks good on you. I am sure the boys love the idea of a "sick" scoutmaster!

I second this. For sports and lounging they work well. But for anything more I personally find it hard to wear them. The comment the OP made was key "I have never owned nor worn a hand made or real wool kilt so I have no basis for comparison."
My first kilt was a SK. I was embarrassed to wear it and it certainly made me more uncomfortable to wear than pants. I also didnt like sport kilt because the pleats were always off.
That said I wore it for piping in public. So I was wearing it outside it's intended use. Sports. I did start to like it after I wore it around the house.
