Half the throwing world wears Sportkilts. They are perfect for that application...relatively inexpensive, super-easy to take care of, and they look fine from across the field. You don't cry when you get pine-tar on them, and there are lots of nice tartans. For someone who wants to wear a tartan, unbifurcated garment in the rough and tumble outdoors and not spend a mint...two thumbs up.
