I have hit a dead end in my genealogy research. I am looking for my 9th Great Grandfather's father and grandfather. Edward Cochran was in the Revolutionary War with the 1st VA. He was born 1748 Charles Co. Maryland and died 1816 Franklin Co. Virginia. He was married to Mary Edwards.

Right now I have his father listed as Nathan Cochran b. 1714 Died 1779 (?). I am trying to see if his line goes to Northern Ireland and back to Scotland for another project of mine.

At first glance everyone thinks that Nathan's father and mother was John Cochran and Lilly Kilgore; however, this is inaccurate from all the records I have looked at.
