Macdonald of the Isles Weathered Hunting

When I was craving a kilt in this tartan there were only a couple dim pics on the Internet. So, in case there are any Clan Donald cousins craving this tartan, here are some pics in the sunlight.

Was hiking the Horseshoe Bend Overlook Trail today - a tourist mecca that is uphill in sand both ways. A passing boy cracked me up...he said its like hiking up a beach.

Was a windy day and I had the feeling some of the tourists were lurking with their cameras to see if they could get any better shots.

    Looking down river.

At Horseshoe Bend itself. Kilt is made from 16 ounce Lochcarron Strome. One of the largest setts out there. Hand sewn by Kathy Lare.

Pic is too small to see it, but directly behind my left shoulder, across the river, is a golden eagle's nest. When I'm lucky I can see the pair of eagles and their babies soaring about.

Here's a pic of what the tourists are hiking to see and photograph.

Great pictures, as always, and thanks so much for the information on the tartan itself. I've been looking for this one, and yours are the first good pictures I have seen of it finished. It's a beaut!!

I'm not sure which is more beautiful, that kilt or the landscape?

Thats one cool kilt. The colours are certainly in keeping with the awesome landscape as well. Love it!

Great looking kilt Ron, just love the weathered pallette, also great photos of the canyons round your way. That horseshoe Bend pic reminds me of the one you took when the Saltire flew there. I never grow tired of looking at that wonderful area.

Aye, good eye. The Wee Airship did cruise over the canyon around there....

Awesome pics again. I agree, that tartan is a perfect match for the scenery. I remember the pics of the wee airship peering over the edge of the horseshoe bend in the river. Fantastic photos from Ron every time he is out on an adventure, keep 'em coming Ron.
