Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Threads like this confirm (ha, as if there were any doubts before!), that quality men wear kilts.

We come from good stock, she and I. I'm glad you posted, as a horse hair owner. Are there any tips I should know for maintaining this? Or is a brush good enough?

This is impressive, even for her. She originally hoped we'd be doing a Marine Corps wedding, but when she heard it was going to be kilted, she was 100% on board from the beginning, and now this is how she supports us. Compared to some other MILs I know, she's one of a kind.

What's funny is even before we got engaged, after she'd only met me a couple times, she referenced her "future son in law" from time to time. Her attitude toward me wasn't even, "oh I'm glad you two are getting married..." it was more to her daughter, "Hurry up any marry this guy!!!!!!!' My parents love her side of the family as well. I honestly couldn't have found a better situation.

I'd be careful about brushing it because if the hair comes out, you can't put it back! If it needs more than being smoothed down by hand, make sure to hold a piece of hair and then brush under where your hand is. In the future, store it with the hair straight or it will get permanent bed head

But I'm no expert... mine only gets worn once or twice a year so it doesn't need too much maintenance
