    Scottish News

I believe many members live in places where specically Scottish news may not penetrate, so.....

Yesterday the Scottish National Party won a landslide historic victory, giving them a clear majority in the Scottish parliamentary elections for Holyrood. Their defining policy is to seek independence for Scotland and they are committed to holding a referendum on the matter.

Moderators and others please note that this is posted without comment, for information only. Would anyone replying please re-read rule *5 first to avoid trouble......Robbie

Interesting indeed. Now would this be full autonomy or is there some kind of new association within the UK that is being sought?

The BBC said last night that the SNP wants Scotland to be able to control its own economy and still maintain good relations with the rest of the UK.

    Interesting

I am getting my kilt kit together to attend the Scottish Games in Woodland and remembered that things "United..." be they States, Soviet Socialist Republics, or Kingdoms, don't usually like to let go of their collective bits without some...um...spirited discussion of the merits. Should be interesting indeed!

    We'll stay tuned.

If they're lucky, it won't be laid out by an Xmarkser...

It would look like all the other European Community passports do.

Different words and emblems on the cover. Such matters though await a referendum result outcome and at a date yet to be decided.

There would be no provision under the current regulations for the questions posed by auld argonian to be included however!
