That's great news that the quaich has reached Tasmania.
Looking forward to the pics Graham.

I do remember Freedom Kilts boxing up a "make your own kilt kit" for someone in the Antarctic in December 2010.....I don't think the gentleman is a member of XMarks, though, so I think you are safe in being the furthest south that the Quaich will visit, Graham.

One of my kilted friends here, a great fiddler from Scotland asked if the quaich was going to south Australia, are there any members there?

Graham, there is new member by the name of Highland Lass who is in South Australia. Perhaps sending a P.M. may get a response. Cheers Mate

The quaich has been doing the rounds of Scottish Country Dance groups here. Tomorrow it goes up the world famous Cradle Mountain, unless the roads are snow-bound.
I had a call from Colin MacLeod, he is from Scotland, living in Melbourne. He is one of the finest scottish fiddlers in the country. Colin is coming over here for an event next weekend, we will share the quaich at the event with all there.
He has made contact with the organisers of the National Celtic Festival at Portarlington, VIC. which occurs in June. (we will be attending) The festival is keen to have the quaich and promote it as an event at the festival.
Colin will be joining the forum and hopes to carry the Quaich to the festival. He plans to join this weekend, so watch out for him and please make him welcome.

Great timing Graham, as discussed I'll be out of the country for the Portarlington festival but I am sure the Quaich will be well received there.
Fantastic to see that you will be taking the Quaich to Cradle Mountain.

Cradle Mountain
We had a great day with the Quaich at the world famous Cradle Mountain. The National Park is only about 1.5 hours drive from where we live, but it did take longer today because of heavy snow falls last night.
A few folk thought I was brave doing a 2 hour walk around the lake in a kilt, but as you all know, it's the best and warmest garment to wear.
Leslie came with me, but sadly, none of my other tartan friends were able or fit enough to come.
