"Elmo McHay" The rest of the story

In a separate post, I put up a picture of the Muppet Character, Elmo, wearing a kilt with myself and my wife beside him.

Elmo came to visit us by way of our Army Community Services (ACS) Director, Doris, who received him while at a symposium back in the states (we are in Germany now). All the ACS Directors received one as sort of a motivational present, I think.

Doris brought him back to our small post and has been having fun with Elmo for the last week, taking him to various events and meetings. Doris is a fun person.

Doris knows I wear kilts and has seen me in them at various times. Today she said "Tom, we should get a picture of Elmo in a kilt!"

It didn't take long for me to agree and so Elmo came home with me tonight, strapped in properly in the back seat of the car of course.

After a bite to eat, my wife and I put on our outfits, she with her long hostess skirt and me in Argyll Jacket. Clan Hay is the tartan.

She has a Hay tartan scarf and when I folded it in half lengthwise, it was just right for length for Elmo. With the addition of a belt pouch I made, for a sporran, and Balmoral bonnet (doesn't show very well, his eyes get in the way) we were all set.

I think it turned out fairly well and was a lot of fun.

    Hope you liked the picture.

Sorry, no additional photos as yet.

    Tom
