Hey, these kids can wear whatever they want to. We really have no choice but to "get used to it". I've no issue with that.

But I do reserve the right to complain about it, just as our forefathers did about our generation's wardrobe choices when we were that age!

It's strange, Tobus, my lady friends, at least the ones who know I am one of the LGBT folk, complain that I am not "swishy," or what ever term you want to use, and that many of their other gay friends are bland and boring like me. I guess it's a regional thing. * yawn *

Glee is supposed to send us a promotional picture, and when we receive that, I’ll post it here. I found a picture on the web, but it has no contrast, and the Black Watch kilt just looks black. Of course, the Black Watch tartan was designed to be stealthy in night raids, disappearing into the night, but good light brings out the pattern. That is exactly why I chose to outfit my pipe band (NATLPD.org) in Royal Stewart because I knew it would provide better contrast in pictures.

    Cheers,
    Brad Beaton

In my poker group, some say we have the gayest straight guy (a male nurse) and the straightest gay guy (a sports loving truck driver). Also, I don't think a single person who met me at random would guess that I am part of the LGBT community. (Or the new acronym I heard, the QUILTBAGPIPE community, since everyone seems to want to keep adding letters to it)

Ehh, sometimes I set off "gaydars" or "bidars," but not very often.

Here's some of the pertinent dialog:
Kurt’s friend: Dude, that rocks, it’s like “gay Braveheart”.
Kurt’s Dad: I don’t like it. I think you’re trying to stir the pot a little bit. I think you’re trying to get some attention.
Kurt: Exactly, what’s the point of dressing up? I mean, that’s why some guys wear the tails with the top hat, and the girls wear the hoop skirts.

"Glee" is right about at least one part. KILTS ROCK!

    Best Regards,
    Brad Beaton

Well I finally saw the episode, and I can't say that it was portrayed in a great light all the way around. I am surprised no one mentioned that he didn't wear a sporran... which I think is essential to the outfit as a whole. But oh well. No point or use being hyper-critical about it. But I suppose the whole "stirring the pot" thing makes the kilt look fringe--but I guess it is in a way. Just cause I grew up with it my whole life doesn't mean other people understand it.

^This...Nice traditional Black Watch tartan, Prince Charlie coatee, black tie and a tuxedo shirt. I can forgive the leg covering and boots. I've seen much worse at Ren Faires.
