What a great kilt, and terrific pics.
As an old scout, I recognized those socks immediately
Is that a Philmont belt buckle you're wearing?

Great pictures. I am waiting for my MacLaren tank. As it will mostly be for evening/formal wear I have gone for the ancient 16oz from our local kiltmakers McAllans in Thurso. Hope it looks as good as yours. I will probably go for another kilt in modern next year but maybe a 5 yard 16oz for daytime/casual use.
Chris.

Welcome to X-marks the Scot and welcome to an even more select group of Kilted Scouters. Congratulations on completing your Wood Badge course. Wear your MacLaren kilt with pride and don’t be afraid of the Uniform police. Together we will change the BSA one kilt at a time.
See you on the Trail

Great looking kilt. I've never worn my Philmont belt and buckle with my kilt, but in this case I think it works very well. Be sure to get some photos at your Woodbadge ceremony for those of us who are kilted scouts here.

Hey Y'all (Yes, I am from Texas - can't you tell?) here is my response to a few of your comments:
Kiltboy - Yes, it's my Philmont belt, or actually a replacement, as the original was purchased in 1976 - crew 809B6.
CMcG - Since this is my first rig, I am still adgusting things, so thanks for the advice on sporan chain vs belt. I have enought room on the kit to do away with most of the chain and just have leather. It makes sense.
Riverkilt - Your picture of pleats is below.
Matty - Thanks for the encouragement. I think I can convince my cohort to bring out the kilt a little more, now that he has company. Maybe Court of Honors, District Dinners, or Wood Badge Reunions. He is actually on the Council Board so that should protect us from too much abuse. And by the way, I used to be a Fox, a good ol' Fox too...
Too all the Wood Badgers out there - Back To Gilwell, happy land...

Your in good company...
I'm sure that I'll have a MacLaren hanging in my closet someday as well. I really like the weathered. Right now I already have three green/blue based tartans...I'd like to diversify with a Royal Stewart or something in a more earthy color next. My short list is Fermanagh County Tartan, Royal Stewart, MacLaren (perhaps weathered), US Army Civil Affairs (Restricted), Afghanistan Campaign tartan.

I would like an Elliot tank, but I will have to save up awhile for it. In the mean time, I think My next step is to look for a good quality balmoral, but have not decided on color - a green or khaki to match scout uniform or blue (navy, lovat, ???) to match Elliot tartan and be more traditional.

Again, allow me to congratulate you on your fine kit!
I am not a Scout, so I do not know or appreciate the regulations, do you get the chance to wear your kilt as part of the uniform often or only on special pre-arranged occasions.
It seems great for you, i hope that you have a great deal of pleasure with it.

Very cool to see the Philmont belt. My old man still talks about his time there.

Looking good. That is a great looking kilt.
Separately, I am very interested in the Wood Badge program. I stopped scouting when I was a cub scout as a kid. I know sometimes wish I had continued, but I get to watch and encourage my son now--he is 6 and has wanted to be a cub scout for a couple years, but his school requires them to be 6 and have passed kindergarten. I look forward to getting involved again. Do you have to be an Eagle Scout (which I am not) to do the Wood Badge? That may be off topic, so I apologize but it's been on my mind a lot lately.
As I said to start, that's a nice looking kilt. I have one of Rocky's wool premium kilts...I just love it. Congrats on the new kilt!
