    New Utilikilts 'colours'

I cycle through my four Mockers and one Survivor one daily basis, and it had been a while, so I checked the Utilikilts site.

    New colours! (their spelling)

That I, personally, have no interest in at-all.

    Anybody else looked? Opinions?

(I searched and found no thread on the subject, please forgive if I'm treading old ground)

    From Utilikilts:

    "Kilt Name: Original
    Belt Line: 46 in.
    Length: 21.5 in.
    Price: $215.00
    Color: Black Poly / Cotton
Availability: This product is available. Click Buy Now to add this item to your shopping cart. "

    From USA Kilts-

    Same specs as above... $219.99

Nope. No interest at all. UK are overpriced, so I have little to no interest. I can get a made-to-measure tartan USA Kilt semitraditional for $4 more than an off the rack Utilikilt. So no- I have no interest in their new colors.

Hmm, I was expecting to see a whole new variety of colors to choose from. Looks like the same old colour palette to me, except that they've added a cheesy green color that I don't remember being an option before. I was hoping they'd have a dark olive drab colour, but I guess not.

(I chose to continue the usage of the UK spelling for color just for kicks.)

Me TOO! Maybe, um, navy blue, mid-dark bondo grey, almost-black maroon, but instead...pinstripes!?
    Yeesh.

And Nighthawk, glad you like it. When I'm feeling rebellious, I print it up on Avery label stock and 'share my opinion' with the world...

$750 for a "tuxedo" kilt that looks ridiculous? I'll pass.

Oh, I forgot, it's for Rock Stars. If they want to pay me a Rock Star's salary, I'll wear it for them. But I still won't buy it.

I've always thought their tuxedo kilt was ridiculous. Now, if it weren't so expensive, I wouldn't mind having a Survival, but there is NO WAY I am coughing up $330. I think I'll make my own comparable x-kilt first.

Oh, and on the spelling, there are several words I think look better with the "u" in them as standard in UK English, but absent in US English. Colour is one of them.

That one is alright either way, but one of the biggest ones for me is honour. To me, it is missing something without including "u" in it.

Over at Politics.ie I saw a fellow labeled a plastic paddy and verbally abused for using math instead of maths. They tolerate the diaspora there but do not appreciate it if you impersonate. So watch your Ps and Qs.

As far as the new Utilikilt colors, I try to never say never but I do not see one in my future.
