Farewell to Tasmania
The Quaich has officially left Tasmania.
Prior to it's departure it was a guest of honour (note proper spelling) at our only local distillery - Hellyer Road, along with members and friends of Burnie Highland Pipe Band.
My wife and I.
The Participants.
The final event before leaving Tasmania was a meeting of some of Tasmania's finest celtic musicians at a lovely farm house in the country. Our own new member Colin MacLeod came over for the occasion. The Quaich was shared around all with a 16 year Lagavulin and was followed by fine food and music.
Some were overcome by the experience:
Some didn't want to let it go:
All treated it with reverence:
Colin and I thought it was very special:
Then came the music:

Looks like the Quaich had a great time in Tasmania, Graham. Good to see that your friends enjoyed their tipple from the Quaich and that its journey to your shores was a success. Cheers mate.

Excellent pics Graham, a splendid visit by the Quaich to Tasmania.

This is amazing. I'd love to be a part of the Quaich's journey around the world. I know there is at least one other poster on this thread in Southern California, so when it get's going this way, it will have a warm and sunny reception.

Graham, good work. I believe you have maintained the high standard of the other Quaich hosts. Glad you had fun with it

Where might we find the schedule of the journey? I would love to get in on some Arizona action if it should happen to pass through, or can host either way.

I don't recall a specific schedule of the journey, however I do recall it being specified to keep it moving West, with it's first stop being Japan. This would make AZ near the end of it's (presumably it will circle the earth multiple times) first time around.

The hope behind the Quest is that our Quaich be shared with as many people as possible. We also hope to allow this Quest to bring out the world-wide scope of X Marks.
We did not lay out a schedule nor set an itinerary. We only ask that it continue its trip in a Westerly direction during the first year. It will reverse direction during the second year.

Just thought of this a few minutes ago, but I will be getting married in January and have a ceremony planned using a Quaich for my wife and I as well as with my groomsmen, any chance it will be in the Southwest US by then?
