Uility Kilt i'm considering

If the day comes when I have the extra cash, I might get a Utility Kilt from UT Kilts. Like to hear my fellow X Markers thoughts on them and if anyone here has one already.

I've got one just like it it though not from UT I got mine through Got kilt before UT started to carry them and wear it to work daily as a stocker for Dollar store and Wal mart and in my personal opinion they are worth it and tough as nails for a daily wear for me.

I have one and I love it. It is a lighter weight compared to a Utilikilt and is very comfortable. I haven't washed it yet, so I can't say how it will do as far as wrinkles go. It does not wrinkle at all with everyday wear. It is well constructed and haven't had any problems with the two snaps on each side. The cloth straps on the right are more for show than any useful purpose as far as I'm concerned. The main pockets are deep enough for wallets and other stuff are placed in a good position. The only down side is that one of cats who is mostly white likes laying on my black kilt. The hair is a pain to brush off even with a good lint brush.

In short, a very good modern kilt for the money. Shipping is done via priority mail, so it will get to you pretty quickly once you order it. I'd recommend them.

Ive got three at the moment. 1 Workma, 1 Original, and 1 Hybrid fitting kilt. I have several traditional also but I prefer the UT over any of them for everyday wear. If youre planning to go kilted at formal occasions the Utility style's not gonna be the one.

I like the black and I like the pockets. For daytime and work use, great. But as I live in Scotland, they would just not understand them. If I ever visit the US of A then I would get one for driving, sightseeing etc. and not have to bother about the correct hose, jacket etc. and wear my tartan in the evening with the correct gear..

A kilt is still a kilt.

Catdad, I wash mine weekly however I don't run it through the dryer and though they don't wrinkle so to speak the pleats will need an iron run over them to beat them into submission because the pleats just don't seem to want to lay right. The only drawback I have found with mine and I'm not in anyway knocking this kilt at all it seems to me that the under apron is a little to short for my personal taste. However, I have also been wearing 7 to 8 yard denim knife pleats that I have made myself. I also have a UK however at least in my case the UK is lighter than the kilt in question mine is a heavier weight denim closer to a cotton duck. But that could be due to different lots of fabric when they are being made.

they look great does anyone know if he will shorten one of these? I'm a short bugger and 23" is too long for me.

Madman, no need to wrestle with a kilt ironing it - when you hang the kilt up to dry put weighted clips at the bottom of each pleat. The weight will pull the pleat into shape as it dries. Works great.

You can use picnic table cloth clips if you can afford that many - or just buy a couple bags of plain extra hanger clips at a big box store. Buy some half ounce fishing weights too. Duct tape the weights to each side of each clip. A mindless chore best done while watching a ball game.

Takes about a minute to put the clips on.

Here's a pic of the clips - here on a leather kilt but work well on a wet cotton kilt as it dries too.
