Braided epaulette - proof of concept
Well I got a used tweed jacket from ebay, and unfortunately didnt bring any old prints home from work to recycle for making a pattern... I dont have any decent scissors either so it probably wasnt as bad as it could have been.
I'm hoping to be able to find enough fabric in the jacket to create gauntlet cuffs and braided epaulettes, so the engineer in me figured i should do the obligatory proof of concept before wasting fabric.
So with some really poor stitching, and an old pair of levi's, this is what i got...

I love and also prefer, braided epaulettes for Argyll style daywear jackets in various tweeds. I just think they have a better look than their flat-cloth counterparts, but the latter aren't that bad either. It's a matter of personal preference. Well done on yours!
