I like the hose and I also “got” your title, quite clever.
You’re a little young for this reference but there was a very funny episode of All in the Family where Archie and Meat Head argued about putting on socks and shoes either sock, sock, shoe, shoe…or sock shoe, sock, shoe.
So is it hos*, hos, brogue, brogue…or hos, brogue, hos, brogue.
*Not sure about the singular of hose.

Oh, those do look great! Thanks for sharing.
I am so glad that the buffet led to such a positive exchange. Makes all my hard work in organizing it worth it!
It seems that the knitter is in Canada. If so, were there any duties or import issues?

I agree. The hose appear to be made from big yarn on big needles*, which would make them fairly quick to make.
*To me, anything over sock weight and size 2 is big yarn and big needles.

Marvellous hose, Cowher!
As for the number of that noun: when you are talking of a garden hose, or any other kind of hose used for conveying liquids or gases, it has a singular and a plural (hose, hoses).
But when talking of socks or stockings, it is simply hose.
Regards,
Mike
