Watching it right now. Very interesting. It also replays on sunday and tuesday if you missed it today (03 June 2011). Looks to me like they did a pretty good job of explaining things.
Such nice bright colours, stacks and stacks of tartan...

Interesting episode. I wish the entire show would have been about tartans and kilts. It kind of left me wanting a little more...

I couldn't see it via TV, but I'm glad Matt posted it on Scottish Tartan Museum Facebook so I got to see it. The loom setup is very interesting and the speed of the loom was amazing. I too would have liked to have seen more.

Maybe these will let you see the Lochcarron mill a little slower.

The yarn storage. Pick a color, any color.

    The warping racks.

    The warp spools.

    Loaded and ready to weave.

    Clickity, clickity - hum, hum.

    Load 'em up again Angus.

Now I know I put that X Marks Tartan in here somewhere.

Would you like matching flashes to go with that kilt sir?

Just step in here and try it on.

Thanks for showing the pics from Lochcarron, Steve. Brings back memories!

Of course, we have to have a photo of the man himself, Lochcarron owner Alistair Buchan!

Alistair says, "I think I put that bolt of X Marks tartan over on the other side of these work tables..."
