'45 Reenactment Recruiting Film
Wasn't sure where to post this, but since YouTube is a form of media....
Anyways, here's a little recruiting film for the "Army of King James" - the 1745 reenactment and living-history organization I get out and play with a couple of times a year:

That was neat! Thanks for sharing the video. It was a nice way to end my Friday at work!

*sigh*
You east coast guys have lobsters to "fight", a tall ship, Prince Charlie, numerous well equipped clansmen, 18th century locations to play in....and I bet the evening festivities are momentous to say the least :-)
I'm so jealous!

This film is brand new; first put up today.
When we first started doing this in N. America - late '90s - we had a huge wave of interest with lots of likely lads "signing up." Attendance at events was excellent, and many redcoats turned out to play as well.
Then, things sort of plateau-ed in the mid 2000s, with recruitment falling off but the majority of the guys still showing up at events. The last few years, however, this period of reenactment has rather fizzled a bit: lower attendance, alot fewer new guys getting involved - which is a shame.
Hoping for a resurgence! After a couple of years of "reenactor burnout" myself, I'm feeling reinvigorated. It's a great hobby...!

A few of those photos look like they were taken at the Niagara Celtic Festival last Sept when Prince Charlie arrived by the sailing ship seen in the photo and was rowed ashore to the encampment. I was there and saw the arrival and his proclamation at the encampment.
Other photos look like they may have been taken at NY's Fort Niagara.
