    Trooping the colour 2011

I had the privilege to attend Her Majesty the Queen's official birthday parade on Horse Guards Parade in London on Saturday. The colour trooped was that of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards.

I did not get any good photos of the pipers in their brand new Royal Stewart kilts, but I will post a couple of photos showing the kilts and the colour.

Cheers! I was at home all day so I watched it from start to finish, then watched the fly-past and all the other extra bits on the red button, then for the remainder of the afternoon, marched up and down my kitchen shouting at myself. A most enjyable day.

    Hi acaig..

great pics of the 1st Scots.
This was always a favourite parade TV item for me when at home.
I never got to see the Trooping, but was lucky enough a guid few years ago to witness the Changing of the Guard at Buck palace. The Scots Guards were the guard that day.
Both splendid examples of proud traditions.

    Thanks for sharing.

BTW..my wee picture on the left is a painting I did of a Colour Sergeant 2nd Bat.Scots Guards

Super shots Alan, will we see you here in Hawick for the games on Sunday?
