license to kilt...anyone?
So I was online searching out a Military Badger Sporran. I'm pricing them out as to know how much I have left to save.
So I use my Google-Fu and under the Tartan Museum's link pops up this
http://www.licensetokilt.com/Full_Ma...k_Sporran.html
I'm wondering if anyone here at XMTS has dealt with license to kilt, and what their experiences were with them.
Thanks.

Oh man that's awesome! I would love one. Sorry I can't weigh in on the company.

I've never seen sporrans from them, but I have seen their kilts. Let's just say that the band who showed me his kilt is now a customer of ours. Again, this was a kilt from him, not a sporran.

It says that the sporran is made by L&M. And it is the L&M pictures of their Military Badger Sporran, I'm just ify on buying anything from a company I or anyone else has not had dealings with before online.

As it is an L&M sporran, you will note on their site only available through dealers. As you started at Tartan Museum, check their selection of sporrans. I believe you will agree several look very like ones seen on L&M site, and as well have, not so surprisingly, similar SKU #s. Check with Matt about availability. A quick check on USAKilts reveals quite similar results. Check with Rocky.
No slight to License to Kilt intended at all, I don't know them at all and have no reason to doubt their honesty and wonderful customer service. However, I can definitely say a perusal of threads here will turn up glowing referrals for both Matt and Rocky. Further search, I'm sure, will turn up other L&M distributors.
You can have the sporran you want from someone with a known track record, or you can give someone else an opportunity to win you as a satisfied customer.
In whatever ensues, wear it in good health, and enjoy.

Yes, those are both L&M sporrans. I do, however, seriously have to question what is shown on the J. Higgins site. That particular sporran I know there is no way it can be retailed for the price they have listed unless J. Higgins has somehow figured out a way to sell items below wholesale and still remain in business.
L&M does make another badger mask sporran without the military tassels, which could be sold at that price, so it could be that the picture is wrong, or that the price is wrong, or perhaps that this is just an old inventory item they want to mark down to move it off the shelf.
But I'd call to double check before I blindly placed the order, just to be sure!

In J.Higgins defense they do not advertise the military badger sporran. Just the chrome or brass civilian. Which I may lean towards now, unless some one has had good dealings with license to kilt.
I'm just not looking to spend 750 bucks on a sporran, then pay 50 in shipping. I can justify 600 or so to the wife. Just not 750 plus shipping.
So if anyone knows were I can get a military style badger for around 600 let a kilt brother know.
Thanks.

Not to turn away a potential sale, but here's a question. You are in Canada. L&M is in Canada. So why order from a US source, pay international shipping, and risk customs fees? Why not shoot L&M an email and see if they can direct you to one of their Canadian retailers closer to you?
