Battlefield Band in San Diego Nov. 5 2011
Concert info (scroll down to Nov. 5)
We saw this band when they came through town last year and thoroughly enjoyed them. "Battlefield" is a region of Glasgow and doesn't mean they play military music!
We've got tickets already (thank you, Bob) and hope some of our SoCal XMarkers will come out as well. The venue is wonderful, you can check it out on the website I've provided above and walking across the street for a good Italian meal beforehand makes for a very nice evening (plus that gets you in the vicinity early enough for a shot at decent parking).

Sounds Great....
Sydnie:
I have to check with the boss and make some hotel reservations but this sounds great. You have already given us one great experience with the Highland Ball, my Chinese wife thoroughly enjoyed it she just now thinks all Celts are loud and boisterous.

Great news, Joe, you won't be disappointed! I will point out that the venue is a church (rented by the concert promoter, with no organizational connection) and events there are nowhere near "rowdy" (sorry to disappoint LOL).
In fact, Carey has been known to eject people who talk during performances -- making it my kind of concert hall! It caters to serious music listening although of course there can be lots of applause and whistling and stomping and such in between numbers. We have been going there for years and really enjoy the experience regardless of the artists' genre.

Don't worry Joe, Sydnie isn't quite right. When groups like Battlefield play the reaction from the crowd is indeed rowdy. The folks who come to the concerts there show their appreciation for the music with loud applause and lots of noise. The church has great accoustics and is very intimate. Great place and great music. I will be kilted for that performance as I was a few nights ago when we went to see Tannahill Weavers.

Sounds Good
We definitely would make the dinner before hand. Kathy is going to let me know on the dates tomorrow. Once we have figured things out I will confirm with you. Thanks for the suggestion. Rest assured Bob, you won't be the only one kilted if we come down.

Sydnie7,
I'm thinking about going to this concert if they still have tickets. I'm going to check with my significant other and see if she would like to go. It sounds like a really good time!
Are you guys going kilted up?

You meant to put an exclamation point, not a question mark after that comment, correct? Heck yeah...definitely kilted and probably with a pair of Sydnie's hose toppers.

I thought I responded to this thread already. Is it in more than one place?
Anyway, we'll be there, too! Yes, kilted! (well, I will be, not my wife)
