Generally with Visa and Mastercard, you have 6 months to file a dispute WITH the US and 12 months to file an overseas dispute.

I know this b/c of a fraudulent sporran purchased by a guy in Russia (who we shipped it to) who used a credit card of a man in Japan. The sporran was purchased and shipped in January and the 'chargeback' happened in September, a full 9 months later. I got stuck for the $500 'head on sporran'.

Sounds rather inappropriate on their part to me, however, fellows, consider carefully with your teasing where you might inadvertently and righteously cross over the line into libel.... I'd hate to see anyone here get themselves in trouble for going too far. I can grant absolution to those who truly and earnestly repent... but I can't do much to keep you out of court!

I wonder if the nice chaps at glengarryhats.com (those highly respected, Canadian purveyors of high quality highland attire), are aware that Great Highland Wear are using their photo imagery everywhere? And I mean, like, everywhere.

    Couple of examples:
    Khaki Balmoral

    Great highland wear image

    Glengarry hats image.

23rd Alberta Rangers Style Patrol Tunic

    Great highland wear image

    Glengarry hats image.

    Not so great really!

EDIT: I've emailed Ian Parenteau, the proprietor to let him know.

The thing that really burns me (and always has) about companies that steal other people's pictures... If your product is such quality, why use someone ELSE'S photos?** Why not take pictures of your ACTUAL product? A camera and a solid color background aren't that expensive... you can knock out a whole store's worth of photos in a day.

It's lazy, dishonest and downright theivery to steal photos.

**Please note, I'm NOT talking about companies who use photos provided by a manufacturer to show off that manufacturer's product... i.e. a lochcarron stock photo of a guy in a kilt to show off Lochcarron material or a Lochcarron made kilt. That's just using available resources.

That's GHW's business model. I wonder if they have it on badges for their employees to wear?

It's companies like them that make companies like us watermark every photo we put up (which really stinks b/c we have to cover up a clear view of our product).

Predicated on the idea that they actually have "a whole store's worth" of product on hand. . . sounds more like these folks are selling the Highland wear equivalent of what the software industry calls "vaporware" (and yes, I think "vaporwear" needs to enter the XMarks lexicon LOL)
