anyone have a black watch mess dress?
Looking for someone who has/has access to a black watch mess dress that can take some pics for me... Particularly interested in the buttons (spacing, type, etc) and button holes on the collar

Yep, I saw that one, which kind of shows the button side, but not the buttonhole side, or what the collar looks like.
My understanding is that the jacket is derived from a standup collar jacket with the stand up part folded down to make a more usual notched collar, hence why the buttons go to the notch on the underside of the collar... If it's still functional, then logic would dictate the button holes must go through the collar on the other side, but that might be unsightly on a mess dress unless they were covered somehow
