Wow, Jamie the kilt looks fantastic. USA Kilts should post your photo as an ad on their website. Love the sporran, I doubt I could do it but it looks great on you.

I have two 5-yarders from Rocky: County Kilkenny and County Roscommon. The quality of both is exceptional and I appreciate this weight in warmer months or whenever I jut don't want to deal with the weight of a tank...

I was wearing my new 5 yard Ancient Kidd kilt tonight when I went to class. I stopped off in the library since I got there early and was reviewing my coursework in a comfy chair under the stairs. I didn't really notice but several faculty went up the stairs and the design of the stairs carried their conversation back down to me. What I heard went like this:

"I guess he must be Scottish," female voice one

"I don't know, he had a Kilt on," male voice one

"A beautiful kilt," female voice two

Can't get a better review than one they never expected to be heard.

    Absolutely!

I just pulled the trigger yesterday on what will be my third 5-yarder from USAK, in California Modern.

To Kilted Rogue, and others who are wondering about choices for hot weather locations:
I received my 5 Yard USAKilt from Rocky just in time for the temps to heat up in Dallas, TX, USA. That means 90 - 100+ and very humid with little or no breeze. I chose 16oz for the better hang and pleating. I like my choice. Even with the heavier wool, the kilt had been comfortable in the heat, and because of the 16oz tbe pleats have held up well.

I too have wished it was lined. I am thinking of a removable cotton liner that I can machine wash (what would be called a "slip" if it were under a skirt). That way my kilt won't be absorbing my sweat - afterall, I am not exaggerating about the 100+ degrees temps).

    I highly recommend a 5 yard in 16oz.
