To Kilted Rogue, and others who are wondering about choices for hot weather locations:
I received my 5 Yard USAKilt from Rocky just in time for the temps to heat up in Dallas, TX, USA. That means 90 - 100+ and very humid with little or no breeze. I chose 16oz for the better hang and pleating. I like my choice. Even with the heavier wool, the kilt had been comfortable in the heat, and because of the 16oz tbe pleats have held up well.
I too have wished it was lined. I am thinking of a removable cotton liner that I can machine wash (what would be called a "slip" if it were under a skirt). That way my kilt won't be absorbing my sweat - afterall, I am not exaggerating about the 100+ degrees temps).
I highly recommend a 5 yard in 16oz.
