Law Enforcement Memorial Tartan/Warrior Dash
So, I have a question for any police/law enforcement personnel out in rabble land: I am running in the Oregon Warrior Dash on Sept. 11, and I wanted to go kilted. I have the honor of running with my older brother and his Vancouver, WA SWAT-mates, so considering the date and the company I'm joining, I would like to wear a L.E.M casual kilt from USAKilts (not yet ordered). Given my brother's assurance that the biggest potential offense would be the "skirt" I'm wearing, I would like to canvass the rabble to get a larger sampling of how appropriate it would be for a lowly engineer (me) to honor his paramilitary protectors in such a manner. For those of you unfamiliar, the event guarantees liberal mudditude...

As the designer of the Law Enforcement officers Memorial Tartan, I can tell you that I designed it for ANYONE to wear to support the men and women in Blue. Are most of the people who wear it in law enforcement? Yes, but so do their families and friends.

The kilt will take a bit of a beating but you'll have lots of kilted company.

PV kilts are relatively inexpensive, will take a beating and are machine washable. Explain to your teammates that you are wearing the tartan in honor of their service, wear some sort of privacy garment (don't want to be arrested by your teammates for a wardrobe malfunction,do you?) and have a blast!
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

I'd say the name says it all Law Enforcement MEMORIAL tartan! You're golden dude, wear it in good health and I'd bet the guys will appreciate the symbolism after they get past the "skirt" thing. My guys give me hell, but not too much since our Chief also sports a kilt every once in awhile!

I know Rocky donates a portion of the proceeds of the LEO Memorial tartan to police charities. Buy several and wear them in good health!

Thanks, everybody. I suppose this means kissing Rocky's a** just to prevent an 11th hour revocation...
Will wear it proudly and confidently. Now just need to get my tail into proper shape.
Hey, Rocky, 6 to 10 weeks for the casual kilts...looking at roughly 8 weeks until I need it, would it be wise to put a rush on my order even if I place it by Monday?

We're at about 8 weeks right now. If you'd LIKE it in 8 weeks, order standard. If you NEED it in 8 weeks, get the rush.

LitTrog: I don't think you'll have to kiss Rocky anywhere.
I just received a L.E.M. casual from USA Kilts. It is beautiful and fits perfectly. Like with most kilt cloth the pictures on the web page don't do it justice. It has a pretty simple sett with deep elegant colors dominated by police blue. I would post a pic, but we recently got back from being run out of town by a forest fire, so I can't now.
I got it in honor of my brother in law (ex Chief of Police of Lebanon, OH) who is fighting cancer, and in memory of one of my best friend's brother (ex cop in Hialeah, FL) who died in that horrible Delta crash at DFW many years ago. I wear it proudly with the USA Kilts emblem leading the way. Don't tell Rocky, but personally I wish they wouldn't change it.
By the way, I paid for the rush option which states "out door in 2 weeks". Technically, that was incorrect. It should have stated, "in your door in 2 weeks". It arrived 2 weeks after I ordered it.
Enjoy your kilt and the run. Tell your brother and his mates "thanks". We appreciate what they do for us.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

2 quick notes...
1. I'd actually PREFER he not kiss me anywhere.
2. We state "out the door in 2 weeks" for a reason. it gives us a bit of a time cushion to get it done. Most times we'll have it done early, but don't promise it. Under promise and over deliver.
