I wish I could drop by the blood bank and donate a quart as a symbol of solidarity with you and yours I think that is a very good idea - sadly, a mis-spent youth guarantees that nobody wants my stuff so I must remain...
Yours in spirit...

Dread, I am only just catching up with the news. I add my thoughts and prayers to that of everyone else. No advice. Just my very best wishes for you both.

I, too, am coming to this thread late. Our thoughts and prayers are with both of you. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Somewhere, there is this picture of a frog in a birds mouth. His little green arms are sticking out of the beak, wrapped tightly around the bird's throat so the frog can't be swallowed. The words "never give up" are usually printed somewhere on the picture.
Yeah.

Dread, I started giving blood when I was allowed to in High School. After giving more than 40 pints over the years I got a liver infection and they asked me to stop giving. I've been meaning to go back lately since that was over 10 years ago and now I have the motivation to do it. Maybe if they won't take the whole blood, they can still take the plasma. My best wishes to your family will continue.

Yeah.
Dread, somewhere in my *gasp* paper files, I have a copy of that fax that used to go around. I'll dig it out tonight, scan it and send it over for you.
