I have worked for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health for the last twenty years. Right now I have the best job yet. I am the Director for an initiative to create coercion free and violence free treatment environments in adult psychiatruc settings (read: hospitals and community mental health centers). Our first goal is to reduce and when possible eliminate the use of seclusion and restraint. It is wonderful to be part of such an empowering and gratifying project that is sure to change peoples lives for the better. I feel blessed everyday.

Crack me up Spike!
Never thought of it like that. Obviously, it means I work with people who are in the criminal justice system for an addiction...booze, drugs, sex, gambling. And the certification is actually for working with the "system" helping the clients navigate probation, parole, the courts...not a legal thing, more how to maintain compliance, finish their time without violating, and get on with their life.

I'm a newspaper editor and reporter. One of my assignments is covering courts. Judging by the number of times I see some of these guys, it MUST be addicting.
