Oh dear, Jock, is he down to a half-pint now? I think Ali may be right. I'm not sure that's enough incentive for him to carry 50 pounds all that way. And make the tea, too. Let's give it a try, though, and perhaps allow him the second half-pint after he returns from Laggan. Now then, on a very, very serious note: even if Ali doesn't find her Moses, you and I need only find the right date. Can we settle on that for a starter?

BTW, I missed this thread when it started, but it's great to hear you're up and about, and looking at 17-mile walks through the mountains!

Half a pint to carry 50 pounds sounds a pretty good deal to me, hey I'd even carry 350 pounds for equivelent pintage. I thank you for your confidence, there are many that say I can't be trusted with other people's money.

Oh hello, Grant. Putting water glasses to walls again, are you? That's just fine in this case, though, and I'm sure we welcome you aboard. My pack is 50 pounds and Ali's is 25, so if you wouldn't mind.... You'll find The Bothy as you enter Fort Augustus and we look forward to having that half-pint pulled for you when you arrive. I suppose you need to know that they are old packs and not worth much more than the half-pint. We'll not worry too much if you decide to do a runner and to help you, Citylink has bus service every two hours or so from Fort Augustus to Fort William.

Just saw this post and it sounds like you are well on your way for mending.
Good Show.
Oh, Grant when he said 50 Pounds he means weight not £'s.
MrBill
PS I might be able to carry a few 1000£ If I had it.

WHAT? Physical labour? With my delicate hands? I think a heavy backpack would somehow hide my pert buttocks!

Apart from the salmon starting to run in June(?), I can't think that I am doing too much Rex, so pick a date and we can go from there.

Nice to see you're on the mend.
Be careful though.

Jock, Ali has thus far not been able to find a Moses to part the seas, and I learned many years ago not to tramp without a partner. If it comes to no Corrieyairack in June (meaning that Grant is protecting his delicate hands and can’t come, either), may we plan a couple of times in the soft Summer months for drams and chats -- and perhaps a meal or two? I'm only up the road near Tomatin and I would love this dearly.
