    A) Back barathea silver/black buttoned day jacket.
    B) Black ,or, grey tweed day jacket.
    C) Tweed day jacket other than black ,or, grey.

I would not presume to know the answers that might have been given, but there is nothing to stop you all from answering them. THEN try to answer them again imagining you are a traditional Scot and see if your answers are the same!

I will take you up on that, Jock.

What kind of head wear would you consider appropriate to be worn, as a civilian, when wearing the kilt?(TICK AS MANY AS YOU LIKE).
    A) Balmoral. Yes
    B) Glengarry.
    C) Deer Stalker/Fore 'n Aft. Yes
    D) Flat tweed cap.
    E) Base ball Cap.
    F) Panama. Yes
    G) Other. I have a very cool (temperature), wide brimmed hat for hot, sunny days

    C) Tweed day jacket other than black ,or, grey. Yes
    D) PC.

Note: which ever would be closest to normal for everyone else and that is usually other than black/grey

This would be both A and D since, to me, A can be formal or "fancy casual" and D can be very casual to fancy casual

I think if I was a traditional Scot, such as yourself , it would be VERY close to the same except for the head ware which would leave off the OTHER option. Of course, as I normally am, I could be wrong.

I don't think we differ by that much, thanks greg.

Now as you did not know the exact rules(MY FAULT) all questions that don't specifically say "tick as many as you like" you only have one choice per question. I will just add that bit to the questions to make that clear. Sorry.

I tend to be a little more formal than most at functions without upstaging the principals (Bride and groom)

That is interesting, Greg. I will reserve comment to see if others might venture an opinion.

Remember it is NOT a question of right and wrong here, just venturing opinions.

O.K., here's my opinion. But I sense I am going to be out of sync with the rest of you

What kind of head wear would you consider appropriate to be worn, as a civilian, when wearing the kilt?(TICK AS MANY AS YOU LIKE).

NONE. I hate hats and see no good reason to wear one. Highland dress is not a uniform and the modern fashion outside of Highland dress is to go bareheaded so why be any different when I have a kilt on?

What kilt jacket do you wear to a FORMAL kilted wedding (NOT a principal guest)?

Probably a Prince Charlie. This is, after all, a FORMAL wedding and if I was not in a kilt then I would presumably be expected to wear a formal Morning Suit, which is also not only (or even) worn after 5pm. The equivalent has to be a PC, Montrose or similar. Alternatively I might wear a Black barathea silver/black buttoned Argyll

What Kilt Jacket would you wear to a "normal" wedding (NOT a principal guest)?
    A) Back barathea silver/black buttoned day jacket.
    B) Black ,or, grey tweed day jacket.
    C) Tweed day jacket other than black ,or, grey.

    Any of the above three

What would you consider the most versatile Kilt Jacket in your wardrobe?

    either
    A) Black barathea Argyll.
    or
    D) Tweed Argyll.(day jacket)

    That's my 2 cents worth

I wouldn't expect others to necessarily agree with me though
