I have 2 - the first was a Highland Games. I brought my lads, kilted of course! An older lady with a thick Scottish accent came by and commented on the Greyhounds we had with us, dabbing her eyes a bit at the memories. She saw my boys and said how nice it was to see the younger generation learning their heritage by wearing the kilt.
The second was at another Games. I stopped at Starbucks, as I had become very sleepy while driving early in the day. I was in my X-Marks hostess skirt, sash, and brooch. The buzz of conversation stopped abruptly as I entered the store, and everyone was dead silent as I ordered, paid, waited for my drink, and then left....

Usually I am solo Kilted, but last night my buddy Nigel wore his new Weathered Hunting Stewart (by Kathy Lare) out when we went to a local restaurant. On the way out a lady who was sitting with her beau said, "you guys look sexy"!
Her date did not seem pleased with her.

Four of us kilted went into a Karaoke bar in Columbus, OH a couple years ago. A lady told me that "we were provocatively dressed". If I recall she was with someone who just ignored the conversation.

As I was walking to church this morning, a guy in his mid-twenties drove past me, threw a hard U-turn at the next intersection and drove back just to give me a thumbs up and yell "You, sir, are bad a&%!" and then drove away.

Yeah, I've been getting thumbs up from guys and girls of that age down to late teens.

Over the weekend a somewhat drunken man on the street said, "I really like your quilt."

Two reactions today;
1) During a work function a female co-worker asked what I was wearing under my kilt and added "I might just have to cop a feel later." She didn't to my relief.
2) While picking up some groceries a good looking, mid twenties casher had just closed her till but when she spotted me she quickly re-opened it. We politely greeted each other and she added "I just love your kilt, is there a special occasion". I replied "no, it just felt like a kilt sort of day". "Nice" she said, her eyes smiling even more than her mouth.

Something unusual happened to me this morning, I was at my coffee shop and one guy I knew asked if it was a new Kilt, and another piped up and said no it isn't he (referring to me) has worn that before. Sort of interesting that these two who have known me for awhile seemed more obsessed about noticing than many others. May not be funny as it was as I type this, but it was a situation of I guess you have to be there.
Kilt in question Isle of Skye.
