Are You sure abut the Chinese? The Austrian claim this invention for themselves. You can read* about this on Rettl's homepage: http://members.aon.at/rettl/indexkaro.htm

Pardon me Phil, but if I told someone I thought them to be good material for "President of the Flat Earth Society," I'd be insinuating that I thought them to be, stupid, foolish, or complete idiots. I figured you meant the same thing, even if it was meant in a joking way. On line, we can't see the grin or wink.

From your comment about offering a hand and buying a pint, I figured you did not intend the jibes to be taken seriously. But they were and you gave serious offense to a valued member of this group.

I still think you owe Rob an apology. And if you can come up with legitimate refutation of the evidence Rob offered in his essay, please trot it out so we can see you put it through its paces.
there you go again, not reading my posts, I said "sorry robbie" and said I would be the first to offer my hand.
as for the proof, I said "IF" I had proof some people would not believe it anyway.
here is my quote"like I said, I may have proof rawlinson invented the small kilt, but you would still never admit it"
here is my second quote".even if rawlinson did invent the small kilt(with proof),most scots would ever admit to it"
as for the flat earth comment, he can say it but I can't????
it's an insult when I quote him????
I do wish you would all read my posts in full and not read things into my posts.

Aruging about who really invented the Morden Kilt is pointless. Why can't we just wear our kilts and go have a pint(or two).

    Guys,
If he comes up with any interesting evidence to refute Robbie, let me know if it sound reasonable. Since I can't seem to read his posts with out "misreading" them I guess I'll just have to quit reading them at all.

    Wolfgang,

Where I come from that is called a tounge in cheek comment. You'd best be careful. You are liable to poke your tounge all the way through and end up with a nasty scar. Might even cause folks to think you attended university at Heidlberg. :P

Cracked my Enigma trying to decipher the sentences above. Who is poised to help me getting a better understanding of a foreign language and culture? Never ever was there, but what is wrong with Heidelberg?
