MacDonald Per Mare Per Terras (By Sea By Land) As they were Lord of the Isles. I beleive the Canadian motto A Mari usque ad mare from sea to sea was from Sir John A Macdonald.
Or Clan Ranald My Hope is Constant in Thee. Reputable uttered of by the Bruce at Bannockburn. and giving Macdonalds the prefered place of honour on the right of the line of Battle.

The motto for the only "clan" to which I ever swore loyalty: This We'll Defend.
Bonus points to anyone who knows what I'm talking about.
We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance. - Japanese Proverb

That would be the United States Army "Clan" motto.

Kerr Family Motto
Kerr - Sero sed Serio - Late but in earnest
Allegedly a contingent of the family showed up late to a pivotal battle (date and location escape me at the moment) but ended up being the deciding factor in the outcome.

I admit that I didn't read all 239 posts to date, but I haven't seen Clan Matheson's motto, "Fac Et Spera" (Do And Hope). I guess the Matheson's were a "leap first, think later" group of folks. That may explain why they were largely landless by the end of the 13th century.

The ÓDochartaigh (Doherty) Clann has as its Motto - Ár nDúthchas - which is generally translated as - Our Heritage - and I translate as along the lines of "for the clann". I also share Barra Macneil blood on the paternal side and Lamont on my mother's side. I believe those motto's have already been mentioned.

A friend of mine and I have started our own clan -- Clan Funn. Our crest is an arm extended holding a mug of the finest ale. Our motto is "Imbibo pro gloria," or "Drink for glory."

You might want to rethink your "crest", as I believe that Clan MacBubba also uses a similar emblem, not to mention Clan Inebriated!

Well, shoot. How about a can of Meister Brau?
I'm only creative twice, maybe three times a year, and I've used my quote of 08.
