I do hope this becomes a reality.
It only takes one person to step up to make this a reality. No, it won't be me. I have done enough, here...X Kilt manuals, providing the initial **oomph** to get the X Marks tartan project going three years ago (though Matt Newsome designed the tartan and Steve Ashton took over and got it woven) , co-running the first Nor Cal Burns Night with the Amazing Madalyn....enough.
Anyone can say "I like that pattern"..or "I'll buy one"...or "I want a bow tie"... It takes a lot more to be the guy who steps up to the plate and makes it HAPPEN.
So.....

So. . . I am stepping up, at least for initial stages. I am sending a PM to Hank for permission, and contacting one possible source of soup-to-nuts fabric and tie production. I'll start a new post with updates as I receive them.

Someone suggested a gray line between the blue and the gold here you go
For this design I took the colours from the XMarks tartan.

The grey line washes out at any distance... In my opinion. I prefer the 3rd design, simple yet stylish.

Just waiting for Hank's go-ahead, then I will start a new thread with some pricing and delivery times info already received from one vendor. Will search out additional sources as well, for comparison.

Thanks to Sydnie7, for taking initiative; I agree with Macman and prefer the simpler design, without the grey...

"Sett" for bow vs. four-in-hand?
Here's a question for the tie experts: Can or should the bow tie be made from the same fabric as the four-in-hand? Or does the smaller "reveal" of a bow tie call for a smaller "sett," that is, narrower stripes?
I've spoken with two vendors so far, neither has mentioned this issue, so maybe it's a non-issue -- but best ask the question up front, right?
