Well I learn something every day on this site! I'd not heard of Granville Island. I Googled it and read about it, quite interesting, the shantytown and redevelopment etc.
My wife's grandmother was from Granville, Illinois... no relation!
Only 1,400 people but the largest town in the county??

Well, here's one for the serious Xmarkers
Yes, made with Dandelions. I'm a stout (as in dark beer and not that i'm short and round...) drinker, but I made an exception to sample this. I have to admit that it's not my kind of beer, but I drank it all. I'm not impressed, but somebody who likes white to pale blond ales might like it. I had it tonight and frankly, I don't remember the taste. I remember it was light....
If a xmark collectionneur wants the bottle, I can package it, just pay the postage.

Where did you get the beer at?

A friend went to Quebec city and brought me back a few beers. This one is made by a micro brewery called Broadway Pub in Shawinigan, Qc. I actually went to that pub 20x years ago before it was a brewery. It was a strange place, but after a few pitchers, also a magical place. They had three floors: 1st floor (including the terrasse) was covered in grass. Everywhere. Dance floor, behind the bar, under the pool tables.... Real grass, not fake stuff. I remember lying down under the pool table and being quite comfortable. 2nd floor was covered in sand, about 6 inches of the stuff. Beach party themed, with inflated palm trees and parrots. 3rd floor was adult-themed with a lot of big screen TVs. I had a strange evening.....
I'll see if I can get it locally here.

The Brother Theolnius and the Kiltlifter I can find in most any good liquor store here in Phoenix, the Old Stock can be hard to find as it is a limited production and is marked with the year made. But if the store carries other North Coast beers them might get some. Definitely worth a try if you like Old style ales, also it is really meant to be put away and age some.

Here in France the beer choice is basically lager or lager. Quite good stuff but I miss a pint of marston's pedigree or theakstons old peculier. Some very nice Belgian Leffe beer if you look for it.
