Starting with the way the flashes on that motorcycle mounted warrior are positioned I have to call that photo a don't.

Personally, I am not in the brownies, and I don't wear my hose flash squarely on the side. two fingers off the tibia is how I like to do it. To each their own.

Also, he can't use his front brake and hold the sword. A one way ticket to wankerville whilst riding.

And he is wearing the black watch tartan on a third reich motorcycle. perhaps captured in battle?

If it takes all that to strike a pose, that's just what it is, nothing more.

But if he is having fun, well that's all that counts. For me, definitely a don't.

For the second time it 2 years, I got to inform a rather naive young man that he had is kilt on backwards . . . he had somehow made it through half of the grounds of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival without anyone saying anything.

    Amazing.

Minor quibble, but it's the clutch he can't use. Front brake is on the other side.

Wow... that was a lot. And it's still a live thread, that's what I find even more entertaining. I shall have to scour the internets for some more choice piccies.

Yeah, I just got back from Milwaukee's Irish Fest, and I saw a man in full attire (argyll jacket, tie, kilt, sporran, hose, flashes, ghillies, etc) but his kilt was on backwards. I pulled him aside and said "I think you have your kilt on backwards". Keep in mind, I was in my pipe band uniform, and thus had a kilt on the correct way. He replied, noting that I had an Irish kilt on, saying "No, this is how the Scots wear it". I just said "Yes, of course. You're right" and let him be on his way. He was far too sure of himself for me to argue the point. Besides, he was going to see all the other kilts that day and notice that his was truely on backwards.

It's that Drambuie thing again. Some people need to stick to Irn Bru.

Or maybe it's the other way around. Oh, wait...see what I mean?

Personally, I can't wait for Celtic Fest here in Chicago in md-September...Lot's of "don'ts" there...lots of kilted newbies who have not had the good counsel that Xmarks could have given them. Thus the guy a couple of years ago who was wearing his kilt with the basting stitches still in it.

Beloitpiper, sorry that I missed getting up there and thus missed that guy...

    Best

I enjoy wearing my kilt and I enjoy riding my motorcycle, but there isn't enough velcro in this world that will allow me to mix these two simple joys
For me, that is a definite "DON'T" !

I have a few kilt dos and dont's from the highland games in Fergus

    Don't mix your tartans

Do wear a TFCK with confidence

    Don't wear a skirt

Do wear your Clan Tartan with pride be it dress or ancient
