Kilted Fridays Adventures
Went out to eat at local restaurant with the wife tonight. No comments from anyone as I have gone kilted there before. USA Army kilt, green hose and black polo shirt. Sorry no pictures.

I went out wearing my Armstrong GK to a doctors appointment today, and then Walmart to buy dinner. I got a few comments. Heard a guy in Walmart say to his girlfriend (or female acquaintance) that he wanted to buy a kilt as I passed him. I also wore my Armstrong SK yesterday for Tartan day. Went out with the wife to a consignment sale, and one person in the queue remarked that she liked my kilt.

Joined friends for a meal together to celebrate my 70th (today), then went a local blues bar to help celebrate the 78th
birthday of Beverly "Guitar" Watkins, a widely known local artist and fun lady. Band included many well known local musicians,
including 90 year old Eddie Tigner on keyboards, who toured for decades with the Inkspots. Fun, but loud and smoky.
Clergy semi-traditional from Rocky, as is most often the case.
Many good comments at the bar, notably from the doorman and the Atlanta police officer working security.

Was kilted at work again this Friday. i had a meeting I had to attend, so I dressed it up wee bit with a wool vest & tie. The kilt is an 8 yd County Meath (Ireland) tartan. My wife snapped this photo after returning from work.

My Kilted Friday was a three day run of kiltedness; Tartan Day on Thursday and a Scottish Society Kilt Night to celebrated it, Tuesday. Friday, I wore my XMTS tartan Newsome single box pleat.
At the office on Friday, a lady came buy to conduct some business for her uncle and I was seated at my desk. Needing to get some paper work from in the mailroom I got up and walked by her. She followed me in to the mailroom grabbing a pleat and said what's this? .....

I longingly await that day, as that will be the day that I truly know that the kilt is no more than any other outfit as IMO that is what it should be.

First kilted day and Friday ever. I wore my Kerr ancient hunting with sky blue shirt and charcoal waist coat, matching socks, back hunting sporran with matching shoes.
On the way to work I realised I needed petrol, so stopped to fill up, guy coming back to his car did a double take, the expression on his face was funny, looked like he'd just spotted the highland hordes coming over the hill. Beep from work van, ignored it.
At work the ladies in the team I worked for were very complementary, even got a you've got good legs, noticed a few stares and felt even more, just sucked in my gut pushed my chest out and strutted my stuff![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif) ![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif) ![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Met the wife at local roadside cafe, near Stonehenge so very busy, heard another beep from work van but ignored it, only one beep so probably not overly abusive anyway. Wife still says kilt it too short even if it is worn that way, a few stares but no comments.
Upsides to the day, it felt good to be so smartly dressed, driving is definitely better in a kilt, still trying to master sitting on a chair but comfortable when I can get the pleats sorted. Using the sporran to ensure modesty is covered makes things easier, couple of "under the kilt" questions asked in jest, easy answer "underwear because I don't want my kilt smelling of urine and *** sweat". The question doesn't bother me, 22 years in the forces has made me quite robust.
Would I do it again, hell yes, bring on next Friday, will definitely be wearing it for more than special occasions - got to promote it as just great clothing.
Sorry for the long ramble.

Par For The Course, Nomad, Nicely Done. I agree that one of the first things one notices with a kilt on is how comfortable it is, including, as you mention, while seated, especially for lengthy periods. If you do play golf, or enjoy hiking, field hockey, scrambling, etc., you will definitely appreciate the unrestricted lower body freedom-of-movement in a kilt (I've yet to see Andy Murray kilted up on court, but I'm sure it's been done). Ramble On!
Best Regards,
