No, you do not have to e-mail me.

Posting here, is the best way. Just post how much fabric you would like.

We are still about a month or two away from actually ordering. No worries.

Inaki, You are down for 3 meters
and Kilted Code Warrior you are down for 2.5
PossingK your order is changed to 3 meters.

I'll post a complete list Monday morning.

I spoke to Gordon Kirkbright this morning and he gave me the new prices.

We have 64 meters spoken for. If we actually order more than 60 meters the price per meter will be $45.00.

If we order any less the price per meter will be $55.00.

    Please e-mail me at service@freedomkilts.com.
    include:
    How many meters you want.
Your real name and your X Marks nic.
    Your mailing address.

I will then send you a PayPal invoice with the total cost including shipping.

Here is a breakdown of the cost:

Assuming we get 60 meters of orders

    4 meters of fabric @ $45.00/meter = $180.00
    10% handling charge $18.00
    7% GST pass on $12.60
Shipping will be approx $25.00 for anywhere in N. America
    PayPal charges $ $9.43
Total = $245.03 IN CANADIAN DOLLARS
    That's $211.88 in US Dollars

I will send the "go order" to Gordon as soon as we have 60 meters of confirmed and payed for orders.

If I truly don't have to pay untill after my second paycheck in March, I'm still in: either bump me up to 5 "meters/yards/whatever", or subtract my previous request based on when you need the cash. I *could* use a credit card, but that's not the way Tracy and I operate for "wants" instead of "needs".

Bryan...I haven't given up hope yet, then...

I have no idea how long this process will take, but my guess is that you will have plenty of time to get your paycheck.
The last time we did this, from start to finish the process took a little over four months.
I will continue taking orders till we have 60 meters ordered and payed for.

Question dumb question for any kiltmakers here

If the tartan is 60 inches 'wide' and you only need a piece 4 yards/metres 'long' to make one "8 yard" kilt, it there gonna be a seam in there somewhere? I have been under the impression that traditonal kilts were basically one piece of fabric

It is not uncommon for kilts to have a seam. True, some tartan fabric is woven 30" wide, but most are woven 57"-60".
Barb's book "The Art of Kiltmaking" covers this very well.
