What an absolutely fantastic weekend it was. Like Robin has already said, I too am a little speechless at the moment. Thanyou Em and Robertson for all your effort in making it a very very special occasion. Pics to follow over next couple of days. And like David, I too would like to say to everyone who was there, 'Up Yours' .. can't wait till next year!

An effing week-end:
Fantastic Ferintosh Family
What strikes Anne-Lise and myself is that usually one says "yes, we had a great week-end". However, this time we can look back and say "yes, each and every one of us had a great week-end!" An interesting little difference there that says it all

Dee, still jet-lagged????? Hope you had a peaceful trip home - great meeting you
Speaking of trips home:
Travelled kilted with bagpipes as handluggage on four flights to get home from Dumfries, and no incident before security check in Oslo....
First time there has been a metallic beep from my clothing, so I was searched manually by metal detector. Great amusement when the male security staff was to search instep. He was totally bewildered as how to do that (!). A female colleague jokingly offered to take over, but alas protocol ruled. Ended up with a quick poke up the kilt mith the metal detector, one embarrassed security officer and a good laugh had by his colleagues, other travelers and Anne-Lise and myself

Thanks Robertson and Emma for making Ann and I so welcome at the Burns Supper. Ann really appreciated all the help and the food and entertainment were absolutely superb.

Oh, dear! Last again! I got home last evening and collapsed into bed totally exhausted after one of the best weekends ever. Even now, I am still feeling at a loss for words to describe the Ferintosh Burns Night Weekend, so I won't even try - the superlatives have been used and I muist go along with each and every one of them.
I have now been home for 24 hours (although is seems like 2) and I have not yet connected my camera to the computer ......... I have no idea what my (probably over 200) photos look like yet, and I've not yet looked at anyone else's. I have developed a streaming cold and am going to have an early night, so the pix must wait for another day.
Will just say, what a genuine and massive pleasure it was to meet all the X Markers who attended and, above all else, to Emma and Robertson, congratulations and heartfelt thanks for providing us with hospitality, extravagance and the extras beyond our wildest dreams.
Hope to be back tomorrow with some more photos.
