Not to mention dedication! It's time consuming and exhausting!

Ya man, we're crammed into these defective monkey bodies; sacks of ocean water walking around the inside-out jar. The whole thing is weird... It's freaking me out man!
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

*disclaimer* Before I start I want to make it known that I am a deeply devoted, uber-religious, incredibly faithful "category three" Orthodox Christian.

I've never gotten comments like that about my kilt wearing, but I have had several "category one" Christians say similar things when I was a punk rocker. I seriously had someone tell me that I was going to hell because I looked like a sinner, and that he expected to see Jesus in a three piece suit when he got to heaven!

Here are some of my standard answers for "category ones":
    1. Did Jesus come to reinforce societal norms or to challenge them?
    2. Which came first, Christianity or Western society?

When it comes to discussions of religion, politics, and other controversial topics, I typically take the position of, "If someone wants my opinion, they'll ask for it, and if they don't it's their loss."

I wish more people could learn to shut their mouths and mind their own business, and only offer their opinion/beliefs in the appropriate setting.

The ongoing research I do in the area of "weird," in order to advance my own weirdness, generally consists of watching Monty Python's Flying Circus, Are You Being Served?, and Keeping Up Appearances, as well as reading and re-reading Douglas Adams, Robert Heinlein, and Isaac Asimov.

Oh, and memorising every song by Tom Lehrer.

I have the complete Flying Circus DVD boxed set in the back seat of my car, and I'm currently reading the copy of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: A Trilogy of Four" that I picked up in Bath.

Man, we're both in SoCal. We've got to meet up one of these days. We'd get along great.

Ah... The Meaning of Life... We should all grow long spit curl sideburns.

I know what you mean, Nighthawk. A couple of wrong moves and people think you're normal or something. Wearing a gorilla costoom with a yellow cape while riding a skateboard around city hall... that works., but only once or twice.

If you're ever in the Inland Empire, let me know, and perhaps we can get together.
