We could meet in the Scotsmans Lounge, Cockburn Street, which is 10 metres off the Royal Mile, about half way up on the right hand side, as you approach the Castle. Typical one-roomed Scots bar, with wooden floor, live music each evening and Sat & Sun afternoons. AND you can get a double (that is 2 x 35ml !) Famous Grouse for £2.60.

How about Friday afternoon around 4.00pm, or after the Clan Pageant from 11.00pm - although it may be rather busy then !

I would hope to be in there on Thurs evening as well.

I'll be staying at the Airth castle with the rest of the Clan Crawford expats. From a Google map search it appears that the Hotel is within walking distance to the Scotsmans. In any case, I'll have my travel computer up and running if anyone wants to tip me off to a get-together for a few pints. Trying to plan now seems futile as I don't have a clue where anything is located except on the Google map -

BTW - is there any percentage in carrying a lot of US$? Seems to me that a hand full of traveler checks in UK pounds and a couple of credit cards is the way to go. Am I missing something?

YES!
Im not on holiday that weekend. I go next week

so I'll see you guys there!
I'll hopefully have my Campbell Ancient kilt made for then otherwise my Freedom casual will have to do... may have to pay a bit extra to speed my order up with HoS to fit in with all the other authentic kilts ;)

Looking forward to it now... even more so than my holidays (other than to Florida) this year!
