Various Reactions
I love the reaction that we got on a South America Cruise in February (this was the first time out in kilts). Normally, we always see at least two kilts on a cruise - and this time we were the two kilts on the cruise.
I have never taken so many pictures with strangers - and one multi-generational family from Brazil wanted their picture with us...

We are definitely planning on wearing them on our next cruise - just need a good answer for the referendum....
Another fun moment have had is when we did a 'formal' night in Denver - when we picked up our 95 year old aunt, she kept saying "I hope the neighbors are looking" - one of those moments that I will remember.

The bottle I have says "Beyond Carbost Village ..." and "Here in the shadow of the distant Cuillin Hills ..." A quick search shows these hills to be a range on the Isle of Skye. Maybe they have a satellite distillery on Mull?

Tobermory Distillery is the only distillery on Mull. I hope to pay them a visit toward the end of August.

Don't know if it's the best I've ever had, but the most recent was while we were traveling today and stopped at a fast food restaurant for lunch. As my wife and I were nearing the door to go in, a young lady came running across the parking lot, leaving her male friend standing at their car, she gushed, "What bravery and awesomeness to wear a kilt out in public." Her excitement really took me by surprise and I was left nearly speechless.
She didn't follow us to the order counter, and I didn't see her again while we were there. One of those out-of-the blue unexpected encounters. Such is the power of the kilt.

I was having a pint with some friends last night and got a number of compliments on my kilt and a "wolf whistle" from a lass half my age which is always good for an old guy's ego. But there was also the somewhat intoxicated 20-something guy who tossed out the "nice skirt" comment. I thanked him and mentioned how nice it was that he and his girlfriend were wearing matching outfits (both dressed in shorts and polo shirts). He seemed to take a bit of offense to that and got a little loud asking "the question" and acting like he was a comedic genius for coming up with it. I decided to ignore him and instead just asked his girl (loud enough for everyone to hear) "Does he always show so much unhealthy interest in other men's underwear?" Everyone laughed, he got red in the face and his girl just laughed and pulled him away saying to him "Just shut up, you SO deserved that!"
