No, you didn't accuse Lady Christel of false advertising, but you did make an accusation of theft in a public forum.

What you did then, and what you've done here is a blatant and absolutely transparent attempt to create ill-feeling toward these people in a very small community. Any person with any semblance of integrity or who was genuinely a ting in good faith would have pursued these matters privately, NOT in a public forum.

If Paul made a claim as to the provenance of these jackets in good faith accepting the information of his suppliers the yes, he has beennegligent in checking and being certain. To accuse him of knowingly and willingly defrauding his customers with no grounds is disgusting and makes you no better than the person you claim he his.

You clearly feel hostile towards me. And you equally seem convinced you can see into my soul. So I do not expect to change your mind. I think we must agree to differ.

Hmm, startling accusations against Paul! I find them hard to believe. In Paul's defense, having dealt with him on two occasions, I found him to be very upright and honest. I was very pleased to have met him on this forum. I, now, consider Paul a dear friend after our numerous communications. Would he lie about such a matter as these jackets that are supposedly made by HoE?? Something's amiss here!

If you think I'm hostile it would only be as a reaction to your disgusting conduct and appalling accusations thinly disguised as a gentlemanly request. The fact that I have observed this conduct on numerous occaisions served only to cement the feeling.

The fact that you will "agree to differ" after having called another man's I tegrity and character into question without base shows co plete lack of character and interest in the honest truth.

Rather than get dragged further into an unseemly dispute over personalities and honour, may I just repeat a few facts, as conveyed to me in person by the Sales Director of House of Edgar.

    1. House of Edgar had never heard of Paul, and had sold him no jackets.

    2. The jackets shown in Paul's photographs are visibly quite different to any jackets sold by House of Edgar.

    3. House of Edgar jackets are not made in Scotland, so the description could not possibly be true.

Gentlemen, you may draw your own conclusions.

Any reason you felt the need to include "a rather annoyed" in the repost of this one? The first go wasn't sensationalst enough?

I don't know if it's just me that's finding XMTS misfiring today and going rather slow...

... but since you ask, since my posting appeared not to have worked, when I resent it and on re-reading, yes, I felt it worth adding the point that whilst we ourselves were indeed rather outraged to be publicly abused as "rip offs", the good people at House of Edgar were considerably more affronted to have their name used in this way.

It may be me that is taking the flak for sticking my head above the parapet, but we are neither the only nor the most hurt party here. Again, I leave it to the community to decide for themselves which of the protagonists in fact holds that status. Paul? Or House of Edgar? You decide.

    Mislead

I for one have to completely agree with Nick.

I purchased a Crail jacket and vest, and no where in either garment is there any indication that they are made by HoE, nor even made in Scotland!

If these products are not HoE, nor made in Scotland, I certainly do feel that I have been lied to and deceived. If not by Paul himself, at least by the suppliers he represents.

I agree that even if the issue had been worked out in private relative to corporate property rights and the other claims regarding Scotweb, that this is ABSOLUTELY the place to bring these kind of issues to the attention of the kilt/accessory buying public!

How many posts have we seen on this site, in an attempt to protect each other, about the Gold Bros. faulty claims and practices for instance? Hundreds I presume.

Had Nick not brought this to our attention I, and others, could have unwittingly propagated this deception to others and expanded the impact of this hoax.

Unfortunately, the cost of return shipping, and the liklihood of never seeing my money or jacket again, makes my seeking reparations unlikely as well.

Thank you Nick for bringing this to our attention! Buyer beware.

Ok, I agree with Danwell that maybe this needn't have been so public but it is your business and money that is at stake. I am just genuinely confused as to the origin of these jackets if they supposedly say HoE on them... Chinese rip off possibly.

BTW, "I am in no mood to apologise" sounds awfully surly to my ears. I would have at least apologised to the community for dragging such grievances into our discussions.
