For my Kilted Friday, yesterday, I again kilted up in my USA Kilts 5 yarder in Robertson Red. I had a gig that evening as a bell ringer for Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. One of my newer residents asked about my tartan and I shared it was my Mother's Robertson. She replied her mother was a MacCallum. I was gobsmacked! My clan is MacCallum Malcolm. So needless to say I had a lot to say to this lady as she was unaware of our Clan.

Kilted up, yesterday evening in my 5 yarder USA Kilts in Ulster weathered. Met up with Geoff Withnell, his wife Michele, and Sir William for an XMTS Kilt Night at Park Lane Tavern. A grand time!
Yes, the gents are wearing kilts! Believe me!

The MacDonald Ranald ancient dropped off the hangers this morning and found its way to around my waist for a casually attired Friday. I continue to realize just how simple it is becoming - no fretting over cloth, colour, style. Sporran choosing was rather bland though, despite how nice they are, which can only mean that its time for me to start another fabrication project.

Another Friday kilted in my USA Kilts Ulster weathered. It's warm and comfy. One comment from female resident where I work, if I was cold wearing it with the extreme cold we are encountering. I reframed from my usual comment, 'no, I have a heater under there', just with a simple, 'no'.

It never ceases to amaze me that you get that sort of question from females, especially elder ones who must have at some time worn warm skirts without the benefit of the almost universal leggings worn by women these days, with or without skirts.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Women say it for effect, knowing full well how our legs feel. The same as they would feel in such weather. It's because men aren't expected to wear such garments if they have trousers to hand

More power to you all who are keeping the regular-kilt-wearing thing going.
Yesterday was only my 4th time kilted since my heart surgery 6 months ago.
A few months after the surgery, not having touched the pipes, I had two memorial service gigs in one weekend and things went well. Then there was a concert in December (at which I played Lament for Captain MacDougall, quite an undertaking for me) and now a funeral gig.
For 2018 I need to play pipes more!

Kilted Formal crossing the North Atlantic.
Due to the storm on Jan3/4 the formal nights were altered, should have been Friday, but was really Saturday.
