I tend to agree. IMHO, if the tie is too much of a match to the tartan it would be a bit like the tie-equivalent of tartan flashes. While some folks love them, they're just not my cup of tea. I think a simple set of stripes in a couple of the main XMTS colors, perhaps separated by a narrow line of a third color, would be a nice, tempered grace note without becoming too "matchy". Something like Rex's recent offering with the gray and white gone.
Fact is, I find something to like in all the designs and might wear any of them with a navy blazer, but I would want something simpler to wear with a kilt. Again... just my opinion.

As the Mod staff is discussing this at the moment I think it best that for now we close the thread. It will be opened up again once we have more news. As it sits having several designs for the tie and all the conjecture going on, we are getting further away from the idea, so lets all take a deep breath and allow the process to take place.
This thread will be back have no fear, but for now it's purpose has been served.
