Thanks, I thought there was an earlier thread but searching these terms is an artform! And, like the Great Old Ones, I've slept since then . . . and forgotten much.

Jock and Orionson an excerpt lifted from the pages of Wikipedia regarding H P Lovecraft.
I don't think he ever made it big over here. At least he is not someone I even heard about before the original thread regarding the Cthulhu Tartan. -
Howard Phillips Lovecraft (August 20, 1890 – March 15, 1937) — known as H. P. Lovecraft — was an American author of horror, fantasy, poetry and science fiction, especially the subgenre known as weird fiction.[1]
Lovecraft's guiding aesthetic and philosophical principle was what he termed "cosmicism" or "cosmic horror", the idea that life is incomprehensible to human minds and that the universe is fundamentally inimical to the interests of humankind. As such, his stories express a profound indifference to human beliefs and affairs. Lovecraft is the originator of the Cthulhu Mythos story cycle and the Necronomicon, a fictional magical textbook of rites and forbidden lore.[2]
Although Lovecraft's readership was limited during his lifetime, his reputation has grown over the decades, and he is now regarded as one of the most influential horror writers of the 20th century. According to Joyce Carol Oates, an award-winning author, Lovecraft—as with Edgar Allan Poe in the 19th century—has exerted "an incalculable influence on succeeding generations of writers of horror fiction".[3] Stephen King called Lovecraft "the twentieth century's greatest practitioner of the classic horror tale."[4][5] King made it clear in his semi-autobiographical non-fiction book Danse Macabre that Lovecraft was responsible for King's own fascination with horror and the macabre, and was the single largest figure to influence his fiction writing.[6] Lovecraft's stories have been adapted into plays, films and games.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. Ooooo-k. This all explains why I did not know anything about it. With respect, I think I shall be filing this in my cerebral "not my cup of tea file" to lift a title from another recent post.
Thank you all for enlightening me. After all, is not that what this site is all about?
Now, where did I put my Tea Cup holster?
Cheers,
John

Such bravery. Yours will be the greater share of madness and misery. May your torments be all you hope for. :-)

Wow. This is amazing. As a Lovecraft myself this is quite sublime. I shall have to give this some SERIOUS consideration. Thank you to all involved for such a wonderful thing!

Rocky at USAKilts is offering a fantastic deal on either 5 or 8 yard kilts in this material, so definitely give it some thought. This may conceivably be the LAST order for this tartan in this format (colour and material).
BTW: If folks (cultists ) want to get their payment squared away sooner rather than later to avoid the rush, they can call USAKilts (Rocky) at (610) 948-4110
and pay for their fabric (total with postage) or their kilt/package (deposit) at any time and Rocky will not run the charge until the order has closed (7 July).

Just remember that the stars will not be right for placing orders after July 7!

I coordinated with Rocky for a 5yarder.
Reviewed the thread and may have overlooked; but how much turn around time is expexted from the mill?

Indeed, I don't think that was mentioned...and I would love to know this as well.
