We were invited to the 501st party and while everyone was now out of armor, there were about 30+ kilted (UK, Tartans, AK's etc) in attendance. Best guy I saw (sorry no pic) was a speeder biker wearing a black UK and a sequined Elvis cape with his armor. I think I have a pic of Chewbacca in a kilt somewhere, but I have to find it.

I'd have to agree that it does look silly. Just wanted to point out that sometimes it's someone that should know better.

I think these guys were called in to play the scots in a re-enactment of the Battle of Culloden. The english were played by small, blind mice. Was interesting to see the size o' the weapons those littl emice had, though.

this one I agree with to no end. Went to a fraternity brother's wedding in me kilt, danced with the bride, her mom and her grandma at the reception until we were kicked out. Was a fantastic time.

Sorry - got to be serious for a moment.
I don't know about Ghillie Brogues. There is an old thread about a fellow who was told by some kilted men that if he was going to dress like a girl, he should go sit with the girls. As I recall, his sin was wearing white hose with shoes laced around the ankles. (It is conceivable that I am misinterpreting).
How big a sin is it to wear good quality black shoes without lacing them around the ankles?
